Community Guidelines
Published 1 October 2026. In effect from that date.
In this version: New. What you may and may not post or do on Colivioo, and what happens when rules are broken.
On this page
Colivioo works because people trust each other enough to share a home. These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service and apply to everything you post and do on Colivioo, including listings, profiles, messages, reviews and Marketplace items.
1. Be real
- Use your own name and your own recent photos.
- Keep one personal account, and do not pretend to be someone else.
- Agents and operators: say who you are and who you act for. Property salespersons must be registered with the Council for Estate Agencies.
2. List honestly
- List only rooms and places that exist and that you can rent out.
- Use real photos of that place, the real price, and every fee and deposit you will charge.
- Do not post the same room twice, advertise a room that is already taken, or use a cheap listing to attract people to a different one.
- Follow minimum stay and occupancy rules from the URA and HDB, and any rules of your tenancy or building.
3. No scams
- Never ask for a deposit, rent or “holding fee”before someone has viewed the room and received a written agreement.
- Do not ask for passwords, one-time codes, bank logins, or copies of ID beyond what a tenancy genuinely needs.
- Do not send links to fake payment or verification pages.
- Do not pressure people with fake deadlines, or push them to move a conversation off Colivioo to avoid our safety checks.
4. Treat people with respect
- No harassment, threats, bullying, stalking, or unwanted sexual messages or content.
- No hate speech, and no demeaning anyone because of race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. Where a listing states a preference, keep it to what Colivioo’s listing settings allow, and never use it to insult anyone.
- No violence, and no content that encourages illegal or dangerous acts.
5. Respect privacy
- Do not share someone else’s phone number, address, photos, documents or messages without their permission.
- Use contact details people share with you only to arrange the room or deal they were shared for.
- Do not record or photograph people in a home without their consent.
6. Marketplace items
Do not list:
- weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco and vaping products, prescription medicines, or anything illegal to sell in Singapore;
- stolen, counterfeit or recalled goods;
- animals, or personal data, accounts or documents;
- adult content or services;
- anything that is not a real item you have and can hand over.
7. Honest reviews
- Review only people you actually rented from, rented to or matched with.
- Do not offer or accept anything in return for a review, and do not review yourself or a friend.
- Describe your experience; do not include personal details or insults.
8. Use Colivioo as intended
- No spam, chain messages or unrelated advertising.
- No scraping, bots or fake accounts.
- Do not try to get around a block, a ban, a limit or a paid feature.
9. What happens when rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, show a warning, limit features, suspend an account, or close it for good. We may also report scams, threats or other crimes to the police. We look at reports and context, not just automated signals, before acting on an account. If you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected] and a person will look again.
10. Reporting
Use Report on any profile, listing, Marketplace item or conversation. Reports are confidential; the person reported is not told who reported them. If someone is in immediate danger, call the police on 999 first.
