ID Verification Notice

1. What ID verification is

ID verification is optional. It lets you earn the “ID verified” badge by showing that a government ID (a passport, national ID card or driving licence from any country) is genuine and belongs to you. You need to have confirmed your email address and phone number first.

2. Who does the check

The check is carried out by Didit (Didit Identity, Inc., and in the EU, UK and Switzerland, Didit Identity Spain, S.L.), our verification provider. Bontal LLC decides that the check happens and what it includes, and Didit processes your data only on our instructions. You take the photos in Didit’s screens, inside our app or on Didit’s website.

3. What is captured

• photos of the front and, where needed, back of your document;
• the details printed on it, such as your name, date of birth, document number, nationality and expiry date;
• a selfie, checked to make sure it is a live person and not a photo or a mask, and compared with the photo on your document using facial recognition;
• technical data such as your IP address and device, used to detect fraud.

4. What Colivioo keeps

Only the result: whether the check passed, your verified first and last name, the type of document, the country that issued it, and its expiry date. We do not receive or keep your document photos, your document number, your date of birth or your selfie. Your badge lasts until your document expires, or two years, whichever comes first.

5. What Didit keeps

Didit keeps the photos and the check record for as long as we instruct, so that the check can be reviewed if it is disputed or investigated for fraud, and then deletes them. Didit does not sell biometric data. You can read Didit’s own privacy policy.

6. Your consent and choices

Before the check starts, we ask you to agree to it and we record that you did, with the version of this notice you saw. If you do not want to verify, you can keep using Colivioo without the ID badge. You can ask us at any time to delete your verification record and to have Didit delete your check; you will lose the badge.

7. Your rights

Send any request about your ID check to us, not Didit, at [email protected]. We will handle it with Didit. The rest of your rights are in our Privacy Policy.
